The fact is, very few people have room to manage many multiple social networks … since there is only so much time in the day to waste on the Internet. Add in Google , effectively a duplicate of Facebook, and there just isn’t space for it.

Social Memories
Social Memories is a Facebook app that analyzes the glob of personal data you heedlessly throw into Zuckerberg’s maw and visualizes it as attractive infographics that you can have printed out as an actual keepsake book. Just like grandma’s photo album (but much, much weirder)!
I think ‘digital scrapbooking’ is something that’s going to come roaring to life in the next few years. People are going to wake up and realize that they’re not in control of most of their digital life. Some is on Facebook, some on Twitter, some on Flickr, some on Instagram, some on GetGlue or Gowalla or anyone of a hundred other platforms. They’re going to realize that they want to document that life in some sort of form that they control. Whether that’s a book, a blog, or something we haven’t yet thought of - people are going to want to take back control of their digital life.

Gowalla’s Street Team
I finally got on Gowalla’s Street Team and I’ve been cleaning house. In the past week, I’ve spot fixed over 60 locations - including quite a lot in my neighborhood.
Just look how neat and organized it is now:

On the other hand, I’m starting to get a bit weary of Foursquare. While I still enjoy the service quite a lot, mostly because it rewards repeat venue check-ins and I’m a huge creature of habit, the venues themselves are getting really out of hand. They desperately need some cleaning and re-organization.

But if you happen to be out and about and see a spot on Gowalla that needs some loving care - flag it and I’ll take it from there.
OH! One more thing…check this out for a fun little teaser at something we’re working on for PBS: http://gowalla.com/pbs
